The Day The Words Took Over The HubNuggets
71
Words, once they are printed, have a life of their own. ~~Carol Burnett~~
Truer words were never spoken
As you read this little Hub;
About the day the words came into town
And robbed us of our treasures.
They ran away with our golden HubNuggets
And made us very sad;
We got them back as you will see
And brought them back for all to read.
And so it begins...
There we were sitting with our newest batch of HubNuggets discussing what each one of us felt was the most important one thing that made an award winning Hub. That was silly of course, but it was a silly day. We all know that there is no one thing that can stand alone in making a hub an extraordinary hub. But there we were just throwing out suggestions as to what we personally thought was the most important one thing.
Little did we know that in the shadows of the garden there were little, well ... I don't know how to describe them. Were they creatures? No, not really. They weren't really alive but you certainly couldn't tell them that. They were short and funny-looking. In the blink of an eye everything around us seemed to be made up of words. How very odd. The trees were still trees but the leaves were made up of the word leaves and the trunks were words saying trunk. The clouds were shaped out the the word clouds. And... well, I think you get the idea. Everywhere you looked everything was made out of words.
Meeting the Word Tribe
Behind the rose bushes made up of...yes, you guessed it, the words rose, leaf, stem and thorn was a particularly imposing figure made of the letters I..M..P..O..S..I..N..G. We all waited for him, or rather, it to speak. "I am the Leader of the Word Tribe." It must be true because he certainly looked the part.
As he spoke a whole bunch of other words came sneaking out from behind the flowers and bushes. The were all shapes and sizes, fat, thin, tall, short, wavy, straight, each different from the other. Each one spelling a different word.
"We have taken your HubNuggets this week as hostages for the egregious insult you have paid to us."
Insult, what insult? We had no idea what they were talking about.
Seeing our confusion the King of the Word Tribe said, " I see you are confused. Let me explain. When you were talking about what makes the HubNuggets great you mentioned everything but us WORDS. Don't you realize we are the most important of all? We have decided that you will not get back your HubNuggets until you solve our word puzzle. Maybe then you will have more respect for us. You will find the puzzle over there behind the word of trees."

What to do, what to do!
Well, what were we supposed to do with this? It didn't take us long to find out. The Words Tribe was more than happy to tell us. Apparently we were supposed to figure out what each word was. It was a old fashioned word scrambler. If we could figure out each word we could have our HubNuggets back. My oh my, we certainly had our work cut out for us
We worked and we worked and we worked. Apparently we needed to figure out some kind of theme. After much discussion we decided that the words had to have something to do with the HubNuggets themselves. Once we found out it seemed to be clear sailing.
Fortunately we were able to get our scrambler done and we got back our precious hubnuggets. It was hard work and quite mind bending but we did it. But, that wasn't the end, oh no. We had to figured out just what the Word Tribe wanted us to understand. The answer was really quite easy once you set your mind in the right direction. What they were looking for was for us to understand is: Without words there would be no HubNuggets.
Try our puzzle yourself and see how long it takes you. But first, take the time to vote for your favorite HubNuggets.
Now, Some Important Words For You
How do I become a HubNugget Wannabe?
You gather together your creative talents and create a well written, well presented Hub. Of course you need to be one of our new writers, with HubPages less than 90 days and with an author's score of 75 or above. The Hub that will be nominated will have been published within the last 7 weeks and have a hub score of 55 or more.
Why would I want to be a HubNugget Wannabe?
Why, fame and fortune, of course. Only kidding, sort of. :~) Your traffic is going to absolutely soar. More traffic means more readers, more readers means more ... well, you see what I mean. The title of your Hub will be posted on a forum thread, you will receive a wonderful congratulations letter form HubNuggets team members, and you will be featured in our newsletter.
What are the guidelines?
The first thing you need to do is choose a terrific subject. Then you need to compose a well written, well presented article of about 800 words or so. Make sure you add a relevant picture of two and maybe even a video. Link to some other hubs that are related to what you have written, add a amazon link of two, and maybe a poll, if relevant. Last but not least, check your work. Make sure the pictures are copyright free, your words are spelt correctly, and your sentences make sense. Edit, edit, edit, then push that publish button. By the way, make sure you make a visit to the hub learning center for any questions you might have. http://learningcenter.hubpages.com/hubnuggets/

Great hub Gals - am working on the puzzle right now! (I voted, voted up, and shared :D before I started LOL)
I'm honored to even be nominated. There are so many talented writers on this site, I almost can't believe it. Thanks so much!!
Much Love,
-J.
You need to read more.
Too much fun, Gal - and such a great idea - where, indeed, would we be without words?! Read and voted! Congratulations to all the nominees!
What a cute hub Gal! I absolutely loved the idea.. :D On my way to read and vote!
Oh wow! My Shinto's Pet Food hub is nominated. Thank you so much KoffeeKlatch Gals
I'm reading and writing comments and voting and enjoying it so much.
Thanks for making it great
Such amazing variety of styles and stories and words, words, words, words!!
I love word scrambles. Usually I can figure them out with just looking at them, but some words I actually have to write down possible spellings. It all depends on how many letters are silent.
I feel amazing and honoured being nominated amongst such great talent. Hubpages has been the best writing place for me. Thanks for this!
I can't believe I've been nominated. Totally unexpected, but greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
I always enjoy dropping by for some great reads. Tremendous talent it's challenging to pick my favorite.
Thank you to all the nominees for great writing.
This is a refreshing new Hub with a fun word puzzle -- I fashioned some words and had to look them out to make sure they were not French! LOL
Great on! And Congratulations to all the Nominees this week. I really like these articles.
I love the other Hubs that are nominated. Good luck to all. They all deserve the recognition... Back to my "word puzzle" I love HubPages. So many wonderful people, talent and friends!
Voted times three. Still working on the word jumbles, though. :-D
I've just looked over the nominees again and they're lovely! I couldn't solve those word puzzles for the life of me, though! I'm terrible at 'em!
I love the word puzzle and the hub. Thanks for the nomination! I'm so excited to be nominated. Encourages me to write more and read everyone else. Good luck to everyone!
Oh this is so great, I shall be back to digest it more when I have a little more time. What fun and such a clever idea the picture is.
At least I got the first one...words! Hip hip hooray! Some good sounding hubnuggets!
My hub got only 5% vote. Poor me but I will try hard to write more and get nominated here.
I am glad to be here in this hubnuggets.
Hi KoffeeKlatch Gals,
My hub was voted in spite the thousands of hubs around. Well, this is a great event being here in hubpages.
I wish I could be voted on the next hubnuggets.
I got my inspiration from Ghost32. Does anyone knows him? I am from Asia and I am really eager to write more in hubpages because of him.
KoffeeKlatch Gals, do you scan hubs around and choose for nominees?
hi KoffeeKlatch Gals,
That is awesome to know. You find your happiness in reading and scanning to look for new hubnuggets. I can't even give enough time to make one hub so I want to follow your footsteps.
I have this desire but I feel laziness in the middle.
